A bittersweet weekend.

Had a rather awesome weekend this week!

On friday, went for 2 job interviews all over the island. and well.. i do hope i can get some good news this week. it seems promising but well.. nothing is guaranteed. if i don't get a job, i will go help my parents at their shop already. lol! but i really hope to get experience, nonetheless. actually, its really an awesome feeling just slacking and not doing anything. nothing to worry. nothing to bother you. just you and your thoughts in your crib. but well, if life is easy now, it will be tougher in future. because life is meant to be tough. Anyway, i am too soft. need to push myself a little. so, after my interviews, i met with Sean.. the editor for last year's yearbook! he kinda needed a favour so decided to meet, plus i really have no idea who he was until last week. LOL! and he was sooo hilarious. we walked around Ion orchard for 2 hours just bitching about G, yb, school and so many stuff. he was freaking hilarious. the troubles he confided in me was exactly what i went through in my yearbook years! hahah. he gave me a free copy of his yearbook.

Then had dinner with family at "Tai Seng restaurant".. its this teochew restaurant that has been in business for 78 years and i think my grandma went there so often until they shifted and no one knew where they went until just this year when we discovered it. and now, they are closing down due to increased rental. so sad! i mean, yeah.. not many young people appreciate the traditional teochew dishes anymore cus everytime we're there, the restaurant's almost empty. so the waitress broke the news to us and i swore i saw abit of tears welling up in her eyes. its sad that modernity takes away with it, the hardwork, tears, memories of traditional traditions. i will miss the good food. the prawn rolls, the cold dish, the fried noodles... those are the essence of the teochew culture and it is going to disappear. just like that. after 78 years. went through world war II but cannot make it through exorbitant rental prices and the taste buds of generation Y and Z. :( its sad...

well.. so anyway, after dinner .. Gerald told me he was staying over at lorraine's place. so, despite having yoga on saturday, i tagged along. haha. at first, lionel just watched his tennis and we did our own stuff. until gerald told me about gunbound. so now, im back into gunbound. and well, we decided to try neopets again. lol! takes us back. took me back to when in primary school, we didnt have internet yet. so i stayed back in my primary school's library just to play until 5 pm (considered late in primary school) to collect neopoints and all. then once, my mum got so worried, she called the school to find that i was in the library. can u imagine the librarian had to announce, "Is shirley still in school? your mother is looking for you" lol! i got so scared la! ahhahaha! yeahh. i lost my account. blumaroo_luver115 .. ahahah! trying to get it back. i spent so much effort on that lor! lol!

then, was supposed to sleep at 1.30am .. then just lying in bed with lorraine, we just kept giggling like mad and talking about the most nonsensical nonsense ever! i think we only went to bed at 4am? lol! super fun.

woke up extremely tired. still had to take a train to yoga class. lol! i was so tired i couldnt do alot of my poses right. i almost did the handstand!!!! gahh! so anyway, went to HMV. it was their last day. i am still a CDs person. whenever i can afford, i still buy my DVDs. and for some artistes and soundtracks, i still buy CDs. so yeah. cityhall's HMV has probably been my favourite hangout in the entire world since they opened and i can spend sooo much time in there. when i needed to look for presents, that was the place. when i was happy, i went there. when i was sad, it was my shelter. in the world of music and films where anything and everything can be possible, that was my heaven. i remembered that when Sly broke my heart, i wanted to stand up on my own so i went there.. for hours. also, it was the place i brought the boys i dated. i just LOVED hanging out in that branch. no one cares about what you have decided to check out. no one judging you. just you and your own preferences. you and your world. and who can forget, how i would purposely walk into HMV to get a glimpse of the latest CDs and DVDs and exit by the other exit when i walked by? sigh! HMV, you will be missed. :( my final purchases from HMV, not forgetting "Julie & Julia". cost me $92.. but.. all for a good cause. don't know if i'd find another favourite CD shop anymore.

So, anyway after that, lugged those DVDs and my dirty clothes and make-up to meet gerald and lionel for more GSS shopping. finally bought nathan's birthday present! and also, just randomly shopped with the boys until i was so tired, i refused to enter anymore shops. lol! yeah. went home, watched "Julie & Julia" .. one of my favourite movies. Meryl Streep.. is definitely so.. imperfectly perfect. The drive she portrays just makes you... wanna stand up and do something about your life!

then today, met up with nei, hc annnnnd ANITA! she's back! yay!! hahaha. heard her stories about her adventures in the UK. sigh. i wished i could travel. i wanna be a wanderluster again. well, i choose to believe that good things come to those who wait... and i am waiting. well, caught "Hangover II" .. it was okay. funny but not as funny as the first one. lol! and orchard road was pouring and it flooded so bad, i had to take my shoes off to take escalator. lol! funny only.

okay la. im heading to bed now... tired. well.. im not sure what changes my life will take this week. but i hope it's a good one. nights!
